Derivatives Associate – Leading International Law Firm

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Derivatives Associate to join the London office of a leading international law firm within its market-leading Energy & Natural Resources practice. Unlike a traditional City derivatives team, this practice sits at the intersection of derivatives, commodity finance, structured finance and broader financing transactions, advising banks, non-bank lenders, traders and corporates on complex cross-border matters.

The team operates on a genuinely hybrid model, where derivatives are often one component of a wider financing structure rather than the transaction itself. Associates therefore gain exposure not only to sophisticated derivatives documentation, but also to the wider commercial and financing arrangements underpinning transactions. This creates a broader and more commercially rounded skillset than many traditional derivatives practices, whilst maintaining exposure to high-end technical work.
