TMT/IP Partner
Overview
An international law firm is seeking to appoint a TMT/IP Partner to join its growing Riyadh office. This is a strategic senior hire, offering the opportunity to build and lead a market-leading practice in one of the fastest-growing legal markets globally.
The role will focus on advising clients across technology, media, telecommunications, and intellectual property matters, with significant exposure to large-scale, innovative projects aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
A genuine book of business/portable client base of at least £1.2 million is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and growing the firm’s TMT and IP practice in Riyadh, including developing client relationships and driving revenue growth.
- Advising clients on a wide range of TMT matters, including technology transactions, data protection, digital transformation, outsourcing, and regulatory compliance.
- Providing strategic advice on intellectual property matters, including licensing, brand protection, commercialization, and IP strategy.
- Acting on complex, high-value transactions, including technology-driven M&A, joint ventures, and commercial partnerships.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, including government entities, multinational corporations, and technology-driven businesses.
- Collaborating with regional and global teams on cross-border matters.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing junior lawyers within the team.
- Contributing to the firm’s broader Middle East growth strategy and business development initiatives
Requirements
- Significant experience (typically 10+ PQE) within a leading international or top-tier firm.
- Strong expertise in TMT and/or IP, with a focus on commercial technology transactions and advisory work.
- Demonstrated track record of building client relationships and developing a practice.
- Portable client base or strong business case for building a practice in Riyadh.
- Experience advising on Middle East matters and a strong interest in the Saudi market is highly desirable.
- Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to operate at a senior strategic level.
